We all have different writing & posting styles, as you've no doubt noticed. I'd like to propose an exercise...
I'd like you to take one of your posts - here or elsewhere - and re-do it, in the way that you think the people here would be most receptive to. Note: Not the way you speak, but the way our audience hears (or reads)
As a guide, take how others post as a guide as to how they like to see information. For example, you've probably noticed that I use direct language and keep my paragraphs very short.
Also, note how people quote - or don't quote - posts they respond to. Take note of the general level of vocabulary, grammar and jargon.
Now, once you've done that... post the original, preceded by the rewrite - in one post.
Then answer these questions:
What did you learn from doing this? How might this change the way you communicate over the phone, on sales calls, in person?
So, is anyone game to try this?
